Simulating Dirty Bomb Aftermath for Disaster Preparedness

Teaching Strategy Description:

This is an online simulation activity that requires students to put the skills they have learned in class to use in a simulated scenario: the aftermath of a dirty bomb detonation. The simulation looks at decontamination, mass fatalities operational sites, and the community assistance centre role.

Teaching Context:

• Lecture on disaster preparedness in third year
• Group activity requiring a computer/laptop
