Using the Population Health Approach on Recent Public Health Issues

Teaching Strategy Description:

Students are asked to find a Canadian news article about a health issue that has occurred in the last two years, identify the population, and write a 7-10 page paper using Hamilton and Bhatti (1995) Population Health Approach. Students include dimensions of how (strategies), who (levels of action), and what (determinants of health), and use 2-5 scholarly articles to support their position.
